Police Probe Triple Homicide on New Year's Day

EL PASO, Texas – Authorities in Juarez, Mexico, are looking into a suspected home invasion that resulted in the fatal shooting of three men on New Year’s Day. The incident has raised concerns about ongoing violence in the border city.

Juarez municipal police received a call around 9 p.m. regarding gunfire near the intersection of Rayon and Secoya streets. Officers who responded to the scene discovered three bodies with gunshot wounds in an alley behind a home located in the Insurgentes neighborhood of western Juarez, according to a police report shared with Border Report.

A joint operation by Juarez police and Mexican National Guard troops was launched to locate two suspects who reportedly fled the area in a vehicle. However, no arrests were made as of yet.

Earlier in the day, another violent incident occurred in the Escobedo neighborhood, where a man was shot and killed. In addition, three individuals were injured in a drive-by shooting in the Infonavit Juarez Nuevo area, which is located in the southern part of the city.

Juarez, situated just across the border from El Paso, Texas, continues to face significant challenges with crime. Last year, the city recorded nearly 930 homicides, highlighting the persistent issue of violence in the region.
