A Big Week for 49ers Receivers

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne recently made headlines when he reached 500 receiving yards on the season, a milestone that triggered a $500,000 bonus on his one-year contract. This achievement came just after he signed the deal following the team's Week 1 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Bourne now has another opportunity to increase his earnings when the 49ers host the top-seeded Seahawks in the Week 18 regular-season finale at Levi's Stadium on Saturday evening. This game is crucial as it will determine the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture.

But Bourne isn't the only San Francisco receiver looking to cash in on contractual incentives during this high-profile showdown. Jauan Jennings, who had a contractual standoff last offseason that led to a revised deal with numerous incentive-based thresholds, also has a chance to boost his earnings.

Jennings faced challenges early in the season due to injuries, which made it difficult for him to meet his performance goals. However, he has been performing well in recent weeks, tallying nine touchdowns on the year and aiming to add more against Seattle.

If both Bourne and Jennings have strong performances on Saturday, they could receive significant financial rewards. The NFL salary-cap analytics site, Spotrac, compiled a list of notable incentives to watch for the final week of the regular season, and both receivers made the list.

For Jennings, the path to additional earnings seems more straightforward. According to Spotrac, he has already earned $1.6 million by appearing on 35 offensive snaps in 14 games. He could increase this amount to $2.4 million by logging another 35 snaps against the Seahawks.

Bourne's situation is a bit more challenging. If he gains 49 more receiving yards, bringing his total to 600 on the season, he would trigger an additional $250,000 bonus. That’s a tough target, but an even greater challenge is the potential $500,000 bonus if he records eight more catches in the game.

Among these two stat targets, the former seems more achievable. However, both players face a difficult task against the NFL's No. 2-ranked scoring defense.
