Andy Cohen Addresses Plastic Surgery Rumors Ahead of New Year’s Eve Live

Andy Cohen recently addressed rumors that he had undergone plastic surgery ahead of his hosting duties on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live.” In a response to a fan’s question on Threads, Cohen clarified the situation. “Did the smallest amount of Botox and lost 20 pounds! And had a lot of makeup on,” he wrote. The comment came in reaction to a fan’s thread asking, “I just saw the new clips of Andy Cohen on NYE and WTF did he do to his face?!? Is he trying to find a new husband at Mar-a-Lago?”

Cohen, known for his role as the host of “Watch What Happens Live,” appeared alongside Anderson Cooper during the fan-favorite New Year’s Eve broadcast from Times Square on Wednesday evening.

Fans took to social media to express their opinions about Cohen’s appearance, with many offering supportive comments. One person wrote, “He looked like he always has … rested and refreshed no doubt. Handsome man. As well as Anderson too.” Another added, “Don’t pick on Andy! He’s perfect.” A third fan noted that Cohen is “obviously entirely entitled to do whatever makes him continue to feel fabulous!” Meanwhile, a fourth gushed, “Darling, you looked marvelous.”

Cohen, who is 57 years old, has been open about his use of Botox to maintain a more youthful look. Earlier this year, he revealed during the “Married to Medicine” Season 11 reunion that he had used Botox for the first time in his life. “I just got it for the first time in my life,” he told Dr. Contessa Metcalfe. When asked how long ago it was, Cohen replied, “About a month ago. They gave me a little.”

In January, Cohen faced backlash from fans over his tendency to ask “Real Housewives” cast members about their plastic surgeries. A critic on X wrote, “The millions of women who watch these franchises are tired of you asking women ‘what work they had done.’ This isn’t 2009 anymore and women can do whatever they want to their face/bodies. It’s time to retire this question. It’s rude and does 0 for the viewers.”

Cohen responded by stating, “‘What work have you done’ remains at the top of the list of viewer questions every season, every franchise.” He also emphasized that the “Housewives” series has always been open about the cast’s beauty routines. “It’s a big part of the series DNA,” he said.

Before this social media exchange, Erika Jayne, a cast member of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” had criticized Cohen for asking about plastic surgeries during a 2019 reunion episode. “I hate it when people say ‘What work have you had done?’ What work have you had done? I think she should answer it, but at the same time it’s kind of rude,” Jayne said while interrupting Cohen as he relayed a fan question to Dorit Kemsley.

At the time, Cohen explained that there was “no judgment” in the question. “I think since the ‘Housewives’ has begun, one of the tropes I think that is common among every city and every franchise is women chasing the fountain of youth and trying to look better and look great,” he said.
